Circle Time

*We begin circle time with writing in our journals; we rainbow write our letters and names. Each week we also make a class book.

*Pledge

*Calendar wall (days of the week, month of the year, counting to 100, weather, gum ball number) We have a container of sticks with actions, we pick a stick as we do our calendar activities. Example: for counting the days we may pick cowboy, so as we count we ride our chairs like cowboys.

*alphabet friends; we learn about the alphabet through song and action. We also learn songs and actions to help us remember how to draw each letter. 70%-100% of what we hear, see, say and do we retain.

*sound bag. The preschoolers take turns bringing home the sound bag and returning with items and a snack that begin with the spotlight letter of the week. That person is the helper of the day

Alphabet wall. We shine the flashlight on the letters as we sing. We love to sing the alphabet backwards and in crazy orders!
