A typical day at preschool

Preschoolers love the consistency of a routine. A consistent routine allows preschoolers to be confident and secure in their environment. It isn't long before the preschoolers can list the order of our activities.

Here is our routine:
Choice time (20 min): When preschoolers first arrive at school they will find a variety of activities to choose from. Choice time is very important; it allows the students to practice skills of independence, responsibility, problem solving, and self-esteem.

Each week the choice time activities change. There are several main areas that include;

Snack/Library (30 min): After preschoolers have a snack they head to the library where they look at a book until everyone is finished with snacks. I then read to them.

This is the library! We love to read!
Each week I switch out books

Craft (15-20 min) I absolutely love craft time! This is a good time for preschoolers to practice necessary skills for kindergarten. Fine motor skills, cutting, gluing, problem solving, self-esteem, communicating and creativity. Here is an AWESOME article on the importance of crafts.  Craft Therapy

Choice time (10-15 min): As preschoolers finish their craft they are able to choose activities once again.

Closing circle time (15 min): We sing lots of songs and play some games :0)
